You should always support a local skate shop but if you don't have one, then you can shop on-line. Some GREAT stores are skatewarehouse.com, zumiez.com which is also a chain store found in malls so check if you have a zumiez around you. A good skateboard can range from $89 - $200 depending which parts you get. I listed some good brands below, these are top notch equipment for medium price. If you want to make your board AWESOME instead of Bones Reds which are excellent and popular, get the Bones Ceramics which are $100 instead of about $20. Again, what is listed is probably the best you can get for spending in between $89 - $200.

Deck - Zero, Blind, Almost, Element, Enjoi, Habitat, Toy Machine

Bearings - Bones Reds! Great and durable for a well reasoned price!

Trucks - Independent and Grind King mainly for skate parks and such, plus they are a bit heavy. I prefer Venture, Tensor, and Destructo for street skating.

Wheels - Ricta and Spitfire all the way! I prefer Spitfire but they are close. The bigger the wheel the faster they go but mostly used for skate parks unless you just want a cruiser. Smaller ones are slower but better for street skating.

Hardware - Shortys all the way!

Grip tape - Mob or Black Magic!

Risers (Optional) - Risers rise the trucks from the deck decreasing the chances of wheel bite. Not recommended for smaller sized wheels such as 50-54mm but optional for bigger ones. Risers are all the same so the brand you get doesn't matter, go for the cheaper ones.

a good board is 100-200 dollars. go to blackholeboards.com to get it. they have the most variety. good choices below:

deck: mystery, plan b, almost impact, habitat. if u want to skate street, 7.5-7.75 size deck is best. if u want to skate park or vert or ramps, get 7.75 or higher

trucks: venture, silver, tensor, get destructo or royal if u want, theyre ok. if u get 7.5 deck, get 7.5 trucks, obviously. 7.62-7.63 deck, get 7.5 trucks. they work also. if u get 7.75 deck, get 7.5 trucks or 7.75 trucks. if u go higher, get 7.75-8.0 trucks (rare)

bearings: bones reds or bones swiss. hands down. other brands suck really bad.

wheels: bones again. bones stf (Street Tech Formula) for street skating, bones spf (Street Park Formula) for park, vert and all that. check em out at bones.com. i recommend size 50-54mm for street, higher for park, vert, etc

hardware: shortys, independent. 7/8" for no risers, 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" for w/ risers

griptape: mob. really good. if u dont want it or u dont have it at local skate shops, get black magic or jessup. should have those. black hole boards has em all.

risers: purpose of risers is to let the skateboard last a bit longer. it prevents board from getting pressure cracks. u dont really need em for almost impact cuz they have this ceramic plates that allow the shock to be dispersed away from common cracking areas. don't matter wat brand. all the same

basically, decks should cost at most 55 bucks. trucks should cost about 45 dollars at most. most good trucks cost 37-40 bucks. tensor magnesiums are 45. wheels should cost no more than 30 dollars, otherwise ur ripping urself off. bearings, 13 bucks for reds, 37 bucks for swiss. at least at blackholeboards.com. hardware: 3-4 dollars. grip: 5 dollars.

so pretty much if i do the math for u, using the most expensive parts that i mentioned, it should cost about 176 dollars. hope i helped
